Through the proposal process, you will be asked to designate different roles for those involved with each proposal. Descriptions for each role are listed below. We recommend that you take time to become familiar with the descriptions before starting the online proposal system.

Each panel should include someone from a current CSBA member district or county office of education. Panels should have a total of up to 4 presenters (including the Primary Contact). Each proposal must have a designated submitter and primary contact at minimum. CSBA will prepare complimentary one-day passes for all presenters and primary contacts of accepted proposals.

Submitter

This person will be informed whether the proposal has been accepted or not (June timeframe). Only one submitter per proposal will be allowed. The submitter may also be designated as the Primary Contact or a presenter if participating in the panel.

Primary Contact

The Primary Contact oversees the workshop development, communicates with CSBA staff, coordinates pre-conference preparations and acts as facilitator, chair or moderator during the actual session on-site. Following the acceptance letter to the Submitter, the Primary Contact will become the main point of contact for all conference related correspondence between presenters and CSBA staff up to and through the Annual Education Conference. The Primary Contact will be published in all CSBA web and print conference materials along with the other presenters. If your proposal is accepted, please note that CSBA sets each session with seating for up to 4 total presenters, including the Primary Contact. Only one Primary Contact per proposal will be allowed. The Primary Contact may also be the submitter.

Presenter

A presenter is a panelist. If a proposal is accepted, CSBA sets each session for up to 4 total presenters, including the Primary Contact. CSBA will have initial correspondence with the Submitter regarding acceptance of a session. Further details about the session will be sent to all presenters and the Primary Contact in the summer and fall. Presenters are encouraged to funnel all communication with CSBA through the Primary Contact, including requests for specific audio-visual needs and changing descriptive paragraphs regarding the presentation.
