The school board is directly and completely responsible for selecting, employing, providing direction for, supporting and evaluating the district’s superintendent of schools.  While the board has an important relationship with district staff, just as they do with all aspects of the school district, the relationship is indirect.  The board does not direct or otherwise supervise district staff other than the superintendent.
